Next Galaxy Smartphone to have Exynos 4 Quad-Core processor
26 Apr, 2012Samsung has announced that their 'Next Galaxy' smartphone will have its next generation 1.4GHz Exynos 4 quad-core chipset, built on 32nm HKMG process and based on 1.4GHz ARM CORTEX A9 quad-core. It would offer 20% less power consumption over the 45nm Exynos Dual.

The Exynos 4 Quad has a full HD 30fps video hardware codec engine for high resolution 1080p video recording and play-back, an embedded image signal processor interface for high-quality camera functionality and an HDMI 1.4 interface for much better multimedia content transmission. Interestingly, the Exynos 4 Quad is well suited for heavy-load applications - 3D games, video editing, and calculation-intensive simulation.
Apparently, the chipset is in production and would be used in the next Galaxy smartphone which is scheduled to be launched on May 3 in London for which Samsung has already sent invitations with the tagline "come and meet the next Galaxy".
