LG unveils Optimus 3D MAX Android smartphone

LG has unveiled the glasses-free 3D smartphone Optimus 3D Max, successor of LG Optimus 3D launched last year. The handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core TI OMAP4430 processor and comes with 4.3-inch 3D WVGA display protected by second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass.
The Optimus 3D Max also features dual 5MP camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 3D video editing capabilities and supports NFC. Currently, it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but like many other companies, LG has promised an upgrade to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) shortly after the launch.

The handset has a 3D converter which converts 2D apps like Google Earth and Google Maps to 3D and also a HD Converter that would offer HD quality for games and apps, when connected to an HDTV via MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link).
The Optimus 3D Max will first hit the Korean mobile phone market in March and would gradually be rolled out globally shortly after. But before that it would be showcased at Mobile World Congress(MWC) trade show on 27th February, 2012 in Barcelona, Spain.
